Assessment and Evaluation

Dr. Keating and Associates offer a comprehensive range of assessment services for individuals and families in the Tampa Bay area. Assessments may be conducted to clarify a diagnosis, determine a current level of functioning, to obtain a second opinion, or to provide specific information to a third party (e.g. school staff, law enforcement, or college disability support services).

Our purpose in conducting assessments is to determine individual, familial, or organizational strengths and to identify challenges that may serve as barriers to a person, family, or organization’s goals. Recommendations help to clarify supports and services that will assist overcoming identified challenges.

Some common types of assessment concerns include:

  • Intellectual Quotient (IQ) or Cognitive Ability including
  • Gifted Testing
  • Adaptive and Life Skills
  • Academic and Learning
  • Memory and Concentration
  • Vocational and Employment
  • Executive Functioning and Attention
  • Autism Diagnostic (including ADI-R & ADOS-2)
  • Sexual Behavior or Concerns
  • Competency and Consent Evaluations
  • Disability Evaluations and Recommendations for College Students
  • Organizational and 360 degree (multi-rater) assessments

Most individuals participate in a comprehensive evaluation that includes discussing the referral concern in detail and being assessed using instruments specific to that particular concern. The information gathered will be consolidated into a written report including as assessment of strengths and a tailored set of evidence-based recommendations.

Individuals and families are invited to a face-to-face feedback session with the clinician to discuss findings and recommendations for the future.
