Triple P, Positive Parenting Program

Triple P is shorthand for the Positive Parenting Program- a parenting and support program designed to prevent as well as treat behavioral and emotional problems in children and teenagers. It aims to equip parents with the skills and confidence they need to be self-sufficient and to be able to manage family issues without ongoing support. Triple P is available for caregivers of children age 2 to 12 years, with Teen Triple P for parents of 13 to 19 year olds. Specialty programs are also provided for parents or caregivers of children with a disability (Stepping Stones), for parents going through separation or divorce (Family Transitions), for parents of children interested in increasing health or who are at high risk of obesity (Lifestyle) and for parents coping with stress, depression, or frustration (Enhanced).

The intensity of Triple P varies according to need- ranging from one session for a focused, specific behavioral concern occurring in one setting to a comprehensive program that builds a variety of caregiving skills to address several behavioral concerns.
